It all starts with my big ole curiosity. It’s what energizes me to uncover the wonderful mysteries that surround us — like, the things that inspire others, why do some people embrace their passions and others don’t, what would it take for people to feel like they belong, why are people striving for happiness and not fulfillment, are creative people the only ones that can be creative, and what are the amazing stories that bridge and intertwine our lives more than we know?

But curiosity is the start, not the end.

I’ve set out on a new adventure, leaving my established 9-5 corporate life. I’m now meeting uniquely inspiring people, hearing their stories, literally getting into their worlds, understanding how people are creating a life full of intention, discovering new perspectives and ideas, finding common themes, and learning how we can lift others up — all while I follow my dream.

I’m inviting everyone to come along with me on this adventure, as I create MY big story. You’ll literally hear and see what I learn, who I meet, and where I go. This is a real adventure!

But there’s one more thing.

I’m not just doing this for me. This is for everyone. I’m using my experiences as an example, a spark, or whatever resonates with others, to help them be who they are and to create the world we want to live in.

It’s been a real journey to make it this far and to figure all of this out. I’m sure things will keep evolving. They should. That’s how life works. No matter how it does, I’m bringing you along for the adventure.

Storytelling and Change Making

I share stories and look to make change in the world. I use different types of mediums and methods, often connecting the two. I regularly podcast, blog, use social media to connect with my communities, and speak publicly.

In addition, my Be Inspired Newsletter shares meaningful information and resources to inspire, take action, and get involved. It’s packed with stories, ideas, and anything that has added value to my life in following dreams and celebrating our differences. It also includes insights (from me) and a highlight of My Big Story with Christopher Swan podcast.

I launched Accidental Information (AI), a media/entertainment company as a destination to inspire and educate, as it entertains. AI will use various mediums (e.g., podcast, video, articles, live events) to explore ideas, stories, and differences to help people love what they do and better understand the people around them. Currently, this growing site hosts My Big Story with Christopher Swan podcast and advice-driven articles. In the near future, AI will expand it’s podcast programming, offering a curated mix of independently produced shows.

Telling Stories with Big Brands

A little history lesson for you — I worked in communications and marketing for 17+ years for brands including Disney, LinkedIn, and Avery Dennison. My experiences range from content strategy to social media marketing to internal communication to content marketing and development. Not only have I worked with diverse audiences, I also connected the narrative from employees to customers and fans. I’ve always been a storyteller, no matter if it’s in front of the message or behind-the-scenes.

Personality Counts, Right?

Here’s the other thing you should know about me. I’ve been described as effervescent, a thinker, excitable, present, a funny guy, seriously thoughtful, and obsessed with entertainment and ideas. Or, think of me as a blend of Ira Glass, Andy Cohen, Guy Raz, Edward Norton, and a dash of (an older) Tyler Oakley. At least that’s what I’ve heard. You decide.
